Buy for the reels you use
Measure your largest spool, then check the dimensions allowed by the exact dryer model. Think about whether you need to treat one reel occasionally or several materials regularly. More capacity is only useful if you use it.
Allow room around the lid and filament exits. A dryer that fits on a shelf may still be awkward to open, reload or feed from.
| Check | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Loading | Enough room for the reel, with straightforward loading and removal. |
| Controls | A clear selected temperature, timer and indication of what the unit is doing. |
| Feeding | An exit position that works with the printer and does not introduce an awkward bend. |
| Running cost | Energy used over a complete cycle, including warm-up, rather than the rated watts alone. |
| Material guidance | A suitable cycle for the exact filament and the limits of the dryer. |
Do not confuse a feature list with a print result
A convenient loading system or a useful timer can be assessed on its own. A claim that a dryer improves a particular print needs a before-and-after test using the same material and a documented treatment.
This is a buying checklist, not a review of a named SUNLU model. The published results should identify the model and revision before they are used to choose between units.
