A PLA test on the Bambu P1S

The useful question here is a modest one: what did this setup actually produce?

The setup

The recorded print used Copymaster3D PLA Polar White, a 0.4 mm nozzle and Bambu’s Textured PEI plate. The printing temperatures were 210°C at the nozzle and 60°C at the bed, with 0.20 mm layers, three walls and 15% gyroid infill. The Copymaster reel fed from AMS slot 2.

The parts came out differently

The 20 mm block measured 20.08 × 20.04 × 10.00 mm. The 40 mm bar measured 40.03 × 9.97 × 4.01 mm. The box and lid assembled, though the fit was looser than a close-fitting lid would need.

The short bridge was much cleaner than the longer ones. The 20 and 30 mm spans showed visible distortion and sag, and the more demanding fins printed poorly. Those outcomes led us to simplify the routine test plate, rather than try to make every feature pass by changing the profile.

A small setup detail worth checking

Before sending the job, the project’s filament needed mapping to the intended AMS slot. Check that final send-window selection, even after choosing a reel on the Device screen. See the AMS guide for the distinction.

Time and scope

Bambu Studio estimated 1 hour 40 minutes 18 seconds and 22.14 g. We have kept those as slicer estimates because actual elapsed time, consumption and electricity were not measured for this record.

This is one print on one machine, not a long-term P1S review or a comparison against another printer. The measurements show what it can usefully tell us.
